Lexington, Kentucky, a startup that delivers prescription drugs online, shuts down

KYLE RUSSELL / FOR THE BLADE Lexington, Kentucky-based Lexington Digital Marketing Solutions, Inc. has shut down, according to a company statement.

The company was founded by former employees of the company and employees of Lexington Pharmaceuticals and Pfizer.

The statement also said that the company will be shut down by the end of the year.

Lexington had raised $4.5 million in funding and was valued at $25 million at the time of the closure.

The Lexington-based company had partnered with Pfizer to provide prescription-drug data to Lexington customers.

The Pfizer deal ended after a dispute over the payment of fees.

In January, Lexington filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.

Pfizer and Lexington were part of the same healthcare-focused company.
